Ok this has nothing to do with my photography business!  Its just too funny not to post these pictures.

My husband I wanted to check out the Honolulu Academy of Art “After Dark”. They open up the academy after hours, have live music, drinks, and you get to see the art at night.  Its pretty cool. We ended up seeing a ton of our friends and had a fun time getting lost in the galleries.  Right now they have Andy Warhol-Modernism on Paper.  Amazing!

These are the funniest pictures my sweet friend cooper took of us. Cooper you know I love you!

Sorry for the late post! I was being an extra on the filming of  ”Soul Surfer” , the Bethany Hamilton story.  It was really fun (mainly because I ended up knowing a lot of people, its a small island) They have a really fun cast, Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid  and of course our local girl Sonya Chung!  Its not that glamorous to be on set!  I am sunburned, tired and over worked (okay, not over worked but the day was long)!

A post is always better with a picture.

Go Christy!! :-) What was your assignment? Is the picture on twitter from Waimea?

  2. oh my dad is totally gonna see that bethany hamilton movie ;)

  • Before you read: if you followed my old blog you might have read this story (sorry).  I wanted to post it again because Parker and Hugo will be in my blog often.  Parker’s story is just to funny not to tell.

These little guys are one of the greatest JOYS in my life.  PARKER+HUGO.  No, they are not mother and son.  Yes, they are both yorkies. Yes, Parker is a GIANT.  No, Hugo is not a girl.  Hugo is your typical yorkie, sweet, loves to be on the lap, has a little yap, gentle and a licker!

Parker my first born. (I can’t believe I am writing like she is a child). Parker was a present from Mr. husband, a perfect, sweet, fun, exciting present. A present that would not stop growing.  I am serious. Parker is a yorkie, (AKC papers and all) not that her papers would matter because clearly something happened.  Someone jumped the fence or something.  Needless to say at 6 months we paid a little visit to the pet store that sold us her.

ME: excuse me, I need to talk to the manager.
Manager: Yes, Can I help you?
Me: Yes, We bought this yorkie 6 months ago and AKC papers say a "yorkie should not exceed 7 pounds". She is now 13pounds,
and not FAT!
Manager:  Dang, she is huge. She is like a bear.
Me: Yes, I can see that. I want my money back!!!

After much discussion we got some of our money back and 25% anything in the store for the next two and half years.

Even though she is slightly huge, I love her, she makes me laugh. She loves to cuddle but only when we go to bed. SHE has made it clear she is not a lap dog nor will she ever be. She will never fit in my purse or beach bag.  She does how ever greet me like a HERO every time  I enter the door, and with that how can I not love my GIANT yorkie? I am just glad she is not big and dumb!

Dear Baby Tay,

On this January day you were dedicated to the Lord, it was so beautiful.

Your family was there to speak words over you and bless you.

You started talking like you understood, and laughing. We all started laughing.

You are a JOY!

You are such a blessing to our lives, I can not wait to watch you grow up.

love,

your aunt/godmomma

p.s. your dad took your uncle hunting and he missed the buck, it still makes him mad.

Oh I love this man in every way!  He completes me! I know it sounds silly. He is such a gift, and I am blessed. He is mine, all mine.

Babe, Thanks for loving me for who I am! Your support and courage to see me reach my dreams is more than I could ask for. You inspire me to do things I thought impossible.  Thanks for holding my hand, wiping the tears, making me laugh, giving me butterflies and being my true love.

Yes, I am still going to wake you up just to give you a good night kiss.

You are my funny little valentine.

xoxo

Can you see Wally the pig?  Our friends David and Jenna Muller were out of town and we were the baby sitter for the cute little pig. (if you need head shots or your nails done, this is the couple.)

Mike Larson had a workshop here in Hawaii. I was lucky enough to go!  It was a blast learning from him!  Mike is all about the business, but doing the business right! He had great pointers and tips to help grow our business.  Thank you Mike for sharing with us, and letting us learn from your mistakes!

Mike rented out Jim Russi‘s vacation rental on the North Shore, so all the photographers were able to stay together and learn.  Jim is also an amazing surf photographer.

One of the best parts was meeting other photographers. Seeing their passion and love for the art is always exciting! Brent Bielmann was one of our models, he is also a photographer. Check out his stuff.
